The Globalink Research Award (GRA) quantum technologies initiative supports research collaborations between Canada and select partner organizations or other universities located in the eligible countries and regions. The full list of eligible countries and regions can be found under the “Eligibility” tab.
Learn more about the Globalink Research Award (GRA).
Projects are accepted all year but must be submitted a minimum of 12 weeks before intended travel dates.
Quantum Technologies : Quantum technology applies the principles of quantum mechanics (Quantum Science) — primarily quantum entanglement, superposition, or tunneling — to build new technologies whose performance depends on one or multiple quantum principles. The three main verticals include:
Under the joint supervision of a home and host professor, successful senior undergraduate students, graduate students, as well as postdoctoral fellows will receive:
If a Mitacs international partner is involved in the project:
It is open to all universities in Canada and no co-funding is required of the Canadian university.
All universities in the list of eligible countries are eligible. Mitacs supports collaboration and outbound mobility between Canada and all countries except those classified as “Avoid all travel” or “Avoid non-essential travel” by the Government of Canada. For inbound mobility, all countries are eligible except for Russia and North Korea.
The following Mitacs partners are participating in the GRA quantum technologies initiative, see “Special funding offer” for details on the funding:
