Learn MoreThe Town of Happy Valley – Goose Bay is located in the central part of Labrador on the coast of Lake Melville and Churchill River and as such it plays a significant role in the area as a place of employment, education sectors, healthcare facilities, shopping, municipal services and healthcare facilities. With a population of 8,109 in 2016, it observed a huge surge in population between 1971 and 1991 in particular. The community is growing day by day but there is no existence of public transit here. The community people rely heavily on their own motor vehicle but those who does not have any access to a car, struggle a lot. The aim of this research project is to find out a feasible public transit route for the area. Proposed public transit infrastructure can bring a lot of benefits to individuals and local communities such as, it reduces air pollution, traffic congestion and increases mobility or ridership, travel safety as well.
