Learn MoreCognitive and motor dysfunction are hallmark impairments of neurologically impaired populations such as those suffering from a traumatic brain injury, or persons with Parkinsons disease. Common symptoms experienced by these populations are deficits in planning and decision making, as well as deficits in balance. These symptoms are not, however, limited to impaired populations but can also be a by-product of healthy aging in older adults (65 and older). While the above-mentioned symptoms can be assessed with relative ease in a laboratory or clinical setting, this is not always convenient for these populations. Thus, the purpose of this project is to design an experimental protocol capable of measuring cognitive and motor dysfunction in both a laboratory setting and with portable technology.
