Vancouver, BC – Mitacs, a national, not-for-profit training and research organization, announced a set of strategic partnerships to fund the creation and training of four Business Development Specialist roles, based at University of British Columbia – Okanagan, University of Calgary, Carleton University and Western University, all with the mandate to advance key industry-academia research partnerships.
In complement to the business development services already offered by Mitacs, the Business Development Specialists will be trained in research grant administration, strategic business development and industry liaising by Mitacs. The successful candidates will play an important role in identifying and matching industry research and development needs to researchers at University of British Columbia – Okanagan, University of Calgary, Carleton University, Western University for the duration of their one-year contract. They will also assist researchers and companies throughout the entire grant application process and provide guidance to various stakeholders to ensure successful research collaborations.
