Although this is an uncertain time for research mobility, UUKi and Mitacs remain committed to their established partnership that provides opportunities for international research exchanges. The Globalink Research Internship program offers UK undergraduate students the opportunity to take part in research internships in Canada.
Despite the ongoing impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, Mitacs and UUKi have committed to continuing to prioritize international research collaboration and research mobility. The renewed partnership demonstrates this priority by doubling the number of places available to UK undergraduate students from 20 to 40 for summer 2021.
As well as continuing to strengthen the UK-Canada bilateral relationship — and strengthening links between UK and Canadian institutions — the program gives successful students the opportunity to carry out a 12-week, fully supervised research project in addition to creating professional development and relationship-building opportunities.
UK universities are currently invited by UUKi to submit expressions of interest to co-fund up to 40 places for students to participate, with internships commencing in summer 2021. Interested universities can contact Sophie Da Silva, Partnerships Officer at UUKi, for further information: sophie.dasilva@international.ac.uk.
