Manitoba announces new path to permanent residency for international students

Winnipeg, MB — Manitoba’s Minister of Education and Training, Kelvin Goertzen, announced today the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program’s (MPNP) Graduate Internship Pathway, which provides international students with a fast track to nomination for permanent residency. Partnering with Mitacs, the program intends to provide companies in the province with job-ready, highly skilled workers.

The MPNP’s Graduate Internship Pathway is open to international students who complete a master’s or PhD degree at a Manitoba university and a qualifying Mitacs internship. Graduates who complete an Accelerate or Elevate internship in Manitoba can apply to the MPNP immediately after graduation.

The MPNP’s Graduate Internship Pathway is one of two new pathways for international students announced under the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program. The International Student Entrepreneur Pathway and Graduate Internship Pathway are now open to international student graduates in Manitoba.
