Mitacs Step workshops are free for participants; however, the preauthorization of a valid credit card is required for registration. To register for a workshop, visit the Step portal. You can access your account and view current offerings by:

  • Logging in (for those who have already created a Step Portal account) OR;
  • Creating a new account (you must create an  account before registering for a workshop)
    • Submit your user/profile details
    • If you are signing up for multiple workshops, select another workshop when your first registration is complete and repeat the process.

Please note: Due to high demand for Step workshops, a credit card is required for registration. Your credit card will not be charged if you attend the entire workshop; however, a $50 penalty fee will be charged if:

  • you cancel less than five days before the workshop date
  • you register but do not attend the workshop
  • you do not attend the workshop in full

Cancellations are disabled five calendar days prior to the workshop date. If you need to cancel your registration less than five days before the workshop, contact the Step team at step(at)mitacs.ca

Your credit card will be charged a $50.00 penalty if:

  • you cancel less than five calendar days prior to workshop date
  • you register but do not attend the workshop
  • you do not attend the workshop in full

This penalty is only charged after completion of a workshop. No charges are made to registrants who participate in full or are on the waiting list.
